How many times have you booked a taxi in Brisbane the night before and its arrived 10 minutes late after booking it through a Taxi booking company or it didn't even turn up? The booking company's takes your booking but wont confirm the taxi will arrive on time they normally say as close as possible to booking time. When you have a plane to catch or important meeting you don't want a taxi turning up that is dirty with non English speaking driver and 10 minutes late. I spent 20 years driving taxis in Brisbane and left disappointed with the Industry so I started up my own business calling it Brisbane Premier Limo Taxi Service in Brisbane. When someone books with me I send a clean car to them on time every time with a good safe English speaking driver. Is Ulber good or bad? I have been in the Industry for 28 years now seen a lot of changes but Im finding Ulber entry in the market interesting. In my business l should thank Ulber because since they launched in Brisbane my business has grown with work,l know they have shaken up the taxis but the taxis service needed shaking up. They had it to good for too long they took the market and customers for granted. If l was running a taxi company l would say how can we improve our service, they need to show up on time, need to have clean cars, they need improve driver training,they need drivers focus on customer service and need to stop charging 10% card fee on all credit cards then maybe they may do better against Ulber. Ulber are own by Google they dont car about there drivers they care about taking 20% of each driver for each job they do, they long term aim is carless driver operated by computers they have test cars now try to acheive this, so Ulber drivers are getting sucked into doing cheap jobs less 20% and ATO are chasing.Ulber for GST and taxes so what will happen is those cheap rides prices has to go up so they wont be any cheap than taxis also Ulber drivers turn up in private cars dont have class 4 insurance means u can pickup paying passengers not normal car insurance, also lm told police are going fine Ulber drivers demerit points and fine them harder to bring them into line with taxis and Limos where will all this go for Ulber Google and there drivers u cant work for ever on a poor income and run your car l know how business runs sooner or later Ulber wont be able to get drivers, if u cant supply service people go else where interestings days ahead lm watching from the side lines.
